Within the framework of Expoagro 2025, Santa Fe's Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, met with YPF authorities to advance in the training of potential suppliers within the province and also with his counterpart from Salta, Martín de los Ríos, to strengthen coordination in shared projects.
Regarding the relationship with Salta, Puccini said: "We are two provinces that strengthen the productive interior, that share an agenda and that have been working on fundamental issues for the growth of companies that invest and bet on our territories: we are united by the defence against national retentions, the Bioenergy League and the participation in Argentina Mining in Salta to position our companies in the mining, gas and oil market. Today we have new, ambitious and lo Protagonists in the export of lithium to the world
In a historic event for the province of Santa Fe and for Argentina, the first export of lithium carbonate from the Terminal Puerto Rosario (TPR) to the People's Republic of China took place a few days ago. This milestone marked a significant step in the integration of Santa Fe into the global lithium supply chain, a key resource for the technology and energy industries of the future.
Governor Maximiliano Pullaro, accompanied by Gustavo Puccini, and other provincial authorities, personally supervised the loading process of the 40 tonnes of lithium coming from Salta. This achievement is the result of a joint effort between the provincial government, private companies and other Argentine provinces, highlighting Santa Fe's strategic role as a key partner in the mining and energy industry. "Argentina, with the third largest lithium reserves in the world, can become a major player and leader in the energy transition. The country has a great opportunity.
And Santa Fe has the capacity to supply the immense variety of suppliers that the mining industry demands, in addition to the potential to become the main export outlet for the entire productive interior," said Puccini. ng-term projects.
Logistics for development
"If we add to the development of suppliers the opportunities for our ports, we are talking about an ally that can be strategic for the province. In Argentina, 75% of lithium transport is done by trucks, but we need investments in infrastructure, in national roads, in access to ports and in the Belgrano Cargas to improve competitiveness and connection with the NOA", added the head of Santa Fe's productive portfolio.
For his part, Martin de los Rios said: "We need our exportable supply to go out to the world in an efficient and accessible way. The ports of Rosario offer this possibility".
Meeting with YPF authorities
In addition, Puccini held a meeting with Pablo Camusso from YPF's Corporate Affairs area. "Santa Fe is emerging as a key player in the oil and gas industry in Argentina, especially in relation to the development of Vaca Muerta. We have more than 300 firms with the capacity to provide goods and services to the industry. This is a growing sector that offers our companies a new productive opportunity," said the Secretary of Industrial Development of Santa Fe, Guillermo Beccani, who was also part of the delegation. The official also announced that in the coming days, the province of Santa Fe will be the epicentre of the YPF Suppliers Academy, a training programme designed to strengthen and develop companies that work or wish to work as YPF suppliers. The programme seeks to improve efficiency and competitiveness, contributing to the development of the energy sector in Argentina.
Locals at Expoagro
"At Expoagro, Santa Fe plays local and imposes an agenda of interest for the country, demonstrating the potential in mining, gas and oil, but also deploying all the productive strength from our ports, our infrastructure and technology at the service of boosting all economic sectors," concluded Puccini.
