The Government of Santa Fe, through the Ministry of Productive Development, seeks to promote Rosario International Airport (AIR) as a strategic point for foreign trade. With this objective, actions were promoted with the main actors of the regional logistics chain, obtaining positive results: "So far in 2024, 277,000 kg of air cargo have been moved, reflecting a total annual accumulated growth of 18%", remarked Minister Gustavo Puccini.
The provincial official assured that "it is a priority for Maximiliano Pullaro's administration to promote AIR in this sense” and explained that "the development of this potential will allow more companies to send their products to the world in a fast, efficient and safe way. The goal is to export more, we need our companies to reach new markets. We have production, innovation, technology and the talent of the people. The provincial government has the responsibility to add logistical infrastructure so that this enormous possibility expands.
According to the data collected in the technical reports of the air station, the goods with the highest incidence are reagents, auto parts, spare parts, inputs, parts of scales, seed samples, electronic prostheses, spare parts, sensors, tools, premium meat cuts, paddle blades, seals, pumps, shock absorbers and laboratory products.
Cargo movement
The efforts made with all institutions generated positive results. The warehouse continuity benefit developed by the Handyway company, which allows companies whose cargo arrives at Ezeiza to transfer it by land to the AIR depot and nationalise it there, grew by 55% from May to August, with the month of August being the month with the greatest boost in results with a 122% increase.
"Air cargo in July and August grew by 27%, with July having the biggest impact with an increase of 71%. The daily Copa flight offer to Panama with great growth opportunities and the regularity of the Aerolíneas Argentinas flight to Ezeiza boosted the activity thanks to the agility, time savings and lower costs," added the provincial secretary of Transport, Renata Ghilotti.
Currently, 42% of the air operations are represented by the continuity of hold, reflecting a growing trend in companies in the region to unify air operations in the AIR, to which will be added, from December, the arrival of Latam company with three direct daily flights from Rosario to Lima.
