Within the framework of the Litoral Region Integration Treaty, the governors of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro; of Chaco, Leandro Zdero; of Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés; of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio; of Misiones, Hugo Passalacqua; and the vice-governor of Formosa, Eber Solís, participated in the Board of Governors.
At the signing of the Treaty, Pullaro thanked the governors and authorities "who are present at this historic moment for our provinces and Argentina. It is an honour to receive them in the invincible province of Santa Fe. And we thank the rectors of the public universities who are joining us in this difficult and complex moment for the country".
"Our region represents nearly 10 million of Argentina's neighbours, and a very important part of the gross domestic product. This historic moment gives us an immense opportunity. It allows us to work together to have an agenda of common issues, which we have to defend in order to grow, and to advance in common policies that strengthen us in our provinces. We are at a very difficult time in the country. We see a model that always ends up making the same mistakes, which is to accumulate resources in the same area," he added.
In this sense, Pullaro said that "we have come to propose a different working model to Argentina to generate economic growth, employment and strengthen the country's productive system".
"It is the people of these six provinces who work and contribute to sustaining this federal model. We want to move Argentina forward; we know how to do it. If our six provinces work together with the countryside, with industry, with our new energy development policies, with our universities, with science and technology, and if we strengthen education, Argentina has a new opportunity. This new opportunity will be provided by the agenda set by the Litoral Region, plus our dear friends from Córdoba, who will also join in", concluded the Governor of Santa Fe.
Education linked to the world of work
On the other hand, Zdero said that "this pact is for the growth and development of this region. This is not possible if we do not start with something as essential as working on education for work and for the productive system that we want to develop. It is possible that the works consolidate growth and that we can move forward firmly, but the pillar of development of our region is much stronger if we do it from education linked to the world of work and technology".
For his part, Frigerio pointed out that "this is a historic moment of which we should be very proud. Currently, we must be more united than ever and work for the development of our region and defend ourselves from attacks. Meanwhile, the governor of Misiones affirmed that "the current situation is two centuries old. The centralism of Buenos Aires subjects us to these situations of injustice and forgetfulness. The Port of Buenos Aires has an immense capacity to forget the provinces that are on the margins. So, we have to fight democratically. If we do not raise our voices and come together to say things with more power, it is very difficult to change reality".
On the other hand, Valdés stressed that "after 200 years we are discussing the same thing. As provinces where the veins of Argentina are, where we have rivers that unite us, and we are still discussing the same thing. As the Litoral Region, we want to say that we are coming together to fight for the development and progress of our people. If there is no common vision, it is impossible for us to have a different country. That is why we must work together on issues such as the waterway, to make the region competitive.
Claudia Giaccone, Undersecretary of the Central Region, highlighted the importance of "the fact that six governors are signing a treaty for the integration of these sister provinces, to think about development together, with a horizontal view, that is why we talk about federalism".
During the activity, held at La Redonda in the city of Santa Fe, the provisional president of the Senate, Felipe Michlig; the president of the Chamber of Deputies of Santa Fe, Clara García; the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Rafael Gutiérrez; the former governors of the province of Santa Fe, Víctor Reviglio and Antonio Bonfatti; among other national, provincial, municipal and communal authorities took part in the event.
