Governor Maximiliano Pullaro inaugurated a section of the first stage of the paving of Avenida 9 de Julio in the city of Gálvez, San Jerónimo department, which represented an investment of 67 million pesos. The works were carried out between Alvear and Neuquén boulevards, within the framework of the Road Strengthening Programme of the Provincial Roads Authority, in a period of seven months. The work was 80% financed by the provincial government and the remaining 20% by the municipal government.
During the ceremony, which took place in front of the Barrio Oeste neighbourhood headquarters, Pullaro highlighted that "the conformation of our country, to a great extent, was due to the immense contribution made by the province of Santa Fe; and 200 years later we are still fighting and demanding the same thing that Brigadier Estanislao López demanded at that time: federalism".
"We want resources to arrive to improve our productive infrastructure and so that our neighbours can have a better quality of life. There is no way for our country to move forward if it does not begin to invest resources in the productive areas, such as ours, such as Santa Fe, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, the Central Region and the Litoral Region. We defend the province of Santa Fe with great respect and with great firmness, but we also do what has to be done".
Order and efficiency
The governor went on to point out that "we understood that there were many backlogs in Santa Fe. That is why we had to start by setting an example, which is why the first adjustment we made to our province was in politics and we reduced political spending considerably. As a result, in the first six months of our administration we were able to achieve a small surplus.
"During this time, we have already begun to plan very important works, unique in the Argentine Republic. This year we are going to execute works for 500 million dollars," emphasised the Santa Fe president.
"Many provinces look at us and say: how is this being done in Santa Fe? We are doing it because we have managed to achieve order and efficiency in the administration of public resources. Order and efficiency were the two parameters we had to achieve in order to move Santa Fe forward. We are carrying out works that perhaps could never have been dreamed of in Santa Fe. We are being encouraged because we see that we have the resources to be able to do it. If we work together, we are going to be more and more efficiPullaro: "This year we are going to execute works for 500 million dollars"
