The exhibition "Les Elles des Jeux" opened at the Museo del Deporte Santafesino

"Women in the Games", in English, is an exhibition that traces the participation of women in the last 130 years of Olympic history, highlighting significant points on the way to equality in sport.

“Culture has a fundamental role in inclusion, given the difficult and complex historical moment we are living through," said Minister Rueda.

"Les Elles des Jeux" (Women in Games) is the name of the new exhibition on display at the Museo del Deporte Santafesino (Ayacucho 4800, Rosario). The inauguration took place last Tuesday and was headed by the French Ambassador in Argentina, Romain Nadal; the Minister of Culture of the Province, Susana Rueda; and the Provincial Secretary of International Relations, Claudio Díaz. The proposal can be visited free of charge until August 11 according to the following schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 7pm.

The Museo del Deporte Santafesino (Santa Fe Sports Museum -an organism dependent on the Ministry of Culture) in collaboration with the Musée National du Sport de Nice in France, together with the Alliance Française in Rosario, exhibits this travelling exhibition that allows us to measure the path travelled in more than 130 years in the history of women's sport, from the exclusion of women in the Olympic Games to the struggle for parity. It recounts the most significant points of progress towards equality for women's sport at Olympic and Paralympic level.

Satisfaction and enthusiasm

In the framework of the opening, the French Ambassador Romain Nadal expressed his satisfaction and enthusiasm for the realisation of this exhibition: "I am delighted to participate in its inauguration, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Santa Fe Sports Museum, the provincial government and the French Alliance of Rosario and Buenos Aires for their commitment to bring this exhibition to Rosario".

For his part, Claudio Díaz emphasised: "we want to highlight the location of this Museum in a very symbolic place, not only for the people of Rosario and Santa Fe, but for the whole of Argentinean sport, for the place where it is and for the significance that it has. We value it very much".

Finally, Rueda valued as "very stimulating that this exhibition is presented in this Museum, which has been generated with a very respectful imprint of gender and integration. We know how to say that at this time culture has a fundamental role to play in inclusion, given the difficult and complex historical moment we are living through".
