Pullaro received the French ambassador in Rosario

With a full economic, educational and cultural agenda, the French delegation will also participate in the inauguration of the exhibition "Les elles des jeux" (They in the games), this afternoon at the Santafesino Sports Museum.

His visit is also part of the local initiatives in the framework of the Olympic Games to be held between 26 July and 11 August 2024 in Paris.

Governor Maximiliano Pullaro received the Ambassador of France, Romain Louis Nadal, at the Government Headquarters in Rosario, who is visiting the province of Santa Fe for the first time to resume bilateral ties with the provincial government. France is a strategic partner for the province, with a link that is part of a long history of university, economic, educational and cultural cooperation.

Other authorities who attended were the Vice-Governor Gisela Scaglia; the Secretary General, Juan Cruz Cándido; and the Secretary for International Relations, Claudio Díaz. The French Ambassador was accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Regional Economic Service in the Southern Cone (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay), Marie-Eva Becquet; the Director of the French Institute of Argentina (IFA), Cultural Counsellor, Frédéric Depetris; the Colonel Attaché for Internal Security, Hugo Louis; and the Director General of the Alliance Française, Pascal Casanova.

It should be noted that his visit is also part of the local initiatives being carried out in the framework of the Olympic Games to be held between 26 July and 11 August 2024 in the city of Paris. He will also take part in activities with the French community in the province (French Alliances in Rosario and Santa Fe).

After the meeting, the Secretary for International Relations, Claudio Díaz, said: "It was a very interesting meeting where we discussed the agenda items we have been working on with France. In the first place, the 65-million-euro loan on climate biodiversity that was recently approved, and which is being properly executed; the issues of decentralised cooperation with productive sectors in our province, and the links we want to have in the areas of financing and cooperation," he explained.

Díaz added: "On the other hand, it was also mentioned that Argentina is embarking on a path to join the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It was stated that we in the province of Santa Fe see it as a good thing and that this would even provide us with a roadmap for the future for our province. Exchanges were also present, both at the cultural, educational and sporting level, because today we are going to visit the Sports Museum in a joint exhibition with France, and the recent Night of Ideas, outside the economic productive aspect that predominates in this relationship, to reflect on the changes that are taking place in societies and the impact of globalisation in the world. I understand that it was a very productive meeting, on very concrete issues, which we are going to continue today with working groups".

During the afternoon, working meetings will be held in two blocks. The first will deal with production, the economy and the environment. The second will be devoted to educational and cultural issues. After the end of the working sessions, the opening of the exhibition "Les elles des jeux" ("Women in games") will take place at the Santa Fe Sports Museum.

Exhibition at the Santa Fe Sport Museum

The exhibition "Les elles des jeux" at the Santa Fe Sports Museum is possible thanks to the work of the Alliance Française, the National Sports Museum of Nice, the French Institute and the Ministry of Culture of the Province of Santa Fe.

This exhibition is a travelling exhibition of the National Museum of Sport in Nice, France, which is part of the Paris 2024 cultural programme. It allows to measure the path travelled in more than 130 years in the history of women's sport, from the exclusion of women in the Olympic Games to the fight for parity. It recounts the most significant points of progress towards equality for women's sport at the Olympic and Paralympic level.
